This is time of understanding and just being there to make things a little easier for families.

I offer comfort, calmness, patience and understanding. I have worked with palliative care patients and other forms of nursing sick people and am very aware how hard it is for friends and families to accept.

I have a certificate in counselling & have worked in mental health.  I have also worked in victim support specialising in suicide & homicide & loved working as a volunteer at Ronald McDonald House and the Cancer Society.  Everything I have achieved has brought me to understand & care for the people left behind & understand the grieving process, which is different for everyone.

It is also a day of remembering great times shared and happiness. All should be done with dignity and peace.

I would meet the family involved, assist with arrangements and readings, listen to what is required and make the day as memorable as it should be.

TESTIMONIALS for funerals

I can thoroughly recommend Annette as a funeral celebrant- she is compassionate and understanding and professional.  Annette conducted my sister’s  funeral service. She spent time talking to the family and friends before and after and made the day as stress-free and relaxed as much as possible for us. Her pleasant personality and sincerity shone throughout the service which was both moving and spiced with a bit of humour . It was a fitting send-off and many people commented that my sister would have loved it.

Sincerely,

Charlie Jemmett

We highly recommend Annette Farquhar as a funeral celebrant.

She was at our place within 2 hours to talk to us & gather information from us, after losing our beloved husband, father & grandfather so suddenly.  It was very short notice, and she responded quickly.  The funeral was for Keith Brown & held on the 14th of March 2015, at the Harewood Cremation. The service was just how we wanted it; and it could not have been more perfect.  Annette paid particular attention to detail.  Annette has a lovely speaking voice which just suits the occasion.  She was nicely presented & was very kind & caring to us as a family.  After the service we had many comments on how wonderful the service was, & how it suited Keith as a person.

Yours sincerely

Colleen Brown & Family

Annette Farquhar was the celebrant for my father’s funeral recently.  She was kind, caring and understanding, and took the time to get to know us and get to know my father in the short time that we gave her to prepare for the service (my father had been ill for a long time and we just really wanted to see him laid to rest).  She has the depth of character to deal with the quirkier side of people’s personalities as well as the grieving and dealing with the reality of losing someone you are close to.  She is professional and genuine to the last and has a kindness that I appreciate so much because it gives me fond memories of a difficult day and I have no hesitation in recommending her services.

Sincerely,

Kate Maindonald
